what if not only the eyes see different colors but the minds of different people work differently so if you could transfer into another body and think with the brain of another person you would brobably have an completely new view of the world even with the same memories. and you would think in ways you never thought they were possible. for example if someone thinks more rational or more emotional or if you have a better or worse spatial imagination than other people or a different IQ. if you could think with the brain of albert einstein or da vinci or someone really smart you would probably understand things that you never understood before 🤔🤔🤔 or what if you where able to think with a brain of a really dumb person it probably would feel very strange, maybe like if youre on drugs 🤔
7 soat oldinResik Noiro
actually it must be true that different brains think differently but how would it feel to think differently and how big would the difference be?
5 soat oldinDaleeny
After thinking really hard I may have come up with a method. So if we translate one sense into another we could test this. For example, we know what water feels like on our hands. And it gives us a very unique feeling. And when we drink it we taste water. But when the water is infused with strawberry flavor it tastes different than just water. In a way it feels like strawberry water as it is that ofc. So when we close our eyes we don‘t see strawberry water but we can still distinguish it from water and a strawberry as a fruit. It is a mix of both. Now let‘s use this for colors. We associate water with blue often so we could say blue feels like water to us. Like the feeling you get when you touch water that‘s totally different from touching a tree for example. And despite water and strawberry water feeling the same, it still tastes different. So when we see strawberry water wich is red we can say it‘s like drinking water that tastes like strawberry. But other things are also red. It could also be rose red, blood red, or cherry red. So it‘s more of a universal category to see red than just one specific feeling. Like how different citrus fruits taste a little different (just like there are different color hues.) so seeing different shades of red in water gives us the feeling of tasting different „shades“ of citrus fruits. They all have things in common but they aren‘t exactly the same. Some come really close though. Thats the best I can come up with.

What I find interesting is tastes. Is someone who likes olives tasting the same thing as someone who hates olives? How can you argue they are? - One is happy and the other disgusted! How can you argue they aren’t? - They are both eating the same thing!

Well I think everything around us is dark and it's the brain that makes up these colorful pictures but only to a certain range called visible spectrum. Also I pretty much believe that mine and your red is same but I'm not sure if mine and an animals red is same. Also if I happen to meet and alien, I can have this question in my mind, is my red the same as this alien's red.
Kun oldinsyndroid
People say I'm colorblind, but I always tell them that they see colors that don't exist 😁

maybe this is why people like diffrent food, scents.
Kun oldinAyah Awad
yellow= happy. dark blue= sad. red= angry. purple= calm. do those colors make you feel that way and if not then we are proably seeing different colors
Kun oldinAyah Awad
Thinking about this makes me mad because if people do see different colors, then they will never know how beautiful the green I see is. People also say like pink is a girly color. but is it though
Kun oldinResik Noiro
hmm why do people think pink is a girly color how did this start and why pink and not any other color 🤔

i remember me and my friends wearing a neon yellow/greenish shirt. and i remember describing the shirt as "neon yellow shirt" while my friends say it's "neon green shirt". i don't have colour blind, but i still to this day see it as yellow and my friends still see it as green. we then argued about whether or not it's green/yellow or the rest of the day lol, it was pretty cool
Kun oldinResik Noiro
lol i had that experience too when i had to sort wool to different colors and some where sure that one wool was orange when other said it was pink

2 kun oldinTarek Habre
We all see the same colors. 1) Bulls react to the color red, so they all see the same color. 2) If my "blue" was orange, I wouldve never understood why blue is a depressing color, but because its a dark color, we all understand that it can be depressing.
2 kun oldinTarek Habre
And i honestly think that this "color perception" problem is just a sort of puzzle. Its an idea we cant prove or disprove (like God) so its bullshit. Colors are not about perception. Colors are wavelenghs. Plants absorb blue and red wavelenghs so they are green. So colors are like a code/formula. So each color in nature IS one color. So now it depends on our perception. But as i said. Colors are like a code. So we read this code and there isnt many answers. If we saw colors differently, we would have differences in our brains/eyes (from person to person) that we would have discovered. This is too complicated for us to have no differences, there isnt any logical answer to what causes the different perception. Because there is only one perception.
Kun oldinTarek Habre
I dont mean dark blue or dark orange, the blue in itself is dark, a dark orange cannot be a sad color, because orange isnt dark. As for the bull, youre correct. But still, other animals do react to certain colors, some see red and yellow as a sign of potentially poisonous species.
Kun oldinKeiley Crother
Bulls don't react to the color red, they just get aggravated at people shoving a rag in their faces, and shades don't change, just the colors, so if it was orange, a dark orange, it would be depressing because media portrays blue as a more sad color, like in the movie Inside Out, soooo....

lanuage you need senses to understand certain words. Like describing any physical object how would a blind person understand other than just states words they associated they would not be able to internally visualize just like a deaf person would not be able to hear things in their mind like a song stuck in your head or reading something in someone else's voice.
3 kun oldinAnne Reilley

3 kun oldinEugene Aguilar

3 kun oldinzain ali
I've thought alot about this bit now I believe that my red really is your red. Let's just have some friends with you and call the colour red as X. Draw a stroke of X on paper. Show some other colours to your friends including X. Now ask your friends to pick X out of the colours. X is basically what they see in their mind. They would pick the same colour X, which is red. If they wouldn't pick red as X, it means that your red anx my red is different. But it is not.
3 kun oldinResik Noiro
i dont get this experiment. to really see if my red is or isnt yours you should measure the brain activity of 2 or more people when they see different colors and compare them. or you could make a child grow up with glasses that make all the colors negative. it will grow up and give the colors diffrent names and characteristics. then after a few years the child learned that some colors are cold/hot/dark or bright. and when you remove the negative glasses this child would probably still be saying that for example white is a dark color and black is a bright color because it learned it like this.

The sally and the box and the basket question. I said she would probably look for the cookie in the basket because you can see into a basket without opening it. A box is generally closed but it could be open, and if the box and the basket are next to each other you could easily see the cookie in the basket. Although if they were both closed off so you can’t see yes your answer makes sense

On a related note, I've watched Technology Connections' video about the color brown. Brown does not exist on its own. It's really a dark shade of orange. Brown was made up by us and is only seen as brown when next to white or lighter colors. Look at any shade of brown on a black background and you see dark orange.
4 kun oldinLiveactionme
I thought of that to!
4 kun oldinFreddie Crick
What came first orange or the orange? Actually the colour was named after the fruit.
4 kun oldinFreddie Crick
Google this: "the trichromatic theory". Interesting factoid: we can see more shades of green than any other colour.
4 kun oldinEileen the Crow
Yep, I always thought this growing up and had some long deep conversations about it with friends, but never came up with any way that we could know if this concept could actually be tested or proven or not.
4 kun oldinMitch Dalen
Theory of mind is the disease we have that had interesting results in our development, but also separated us from the known in all other life forms. That we are all connected. Other animals know this intuitively and can not even fathom another existence. Just like we can't imagine anything outside of what we can see with our eyes inside the range of light spectrum we are tuned to.

I was philosophizing about this when I was in elementary school. But I threw the theory off quickly and never really thought about it again. I concluded we humans are similar to computers but organic. And all computers display the same color unless its broken. Therefor we all must be seeing the same unless something is broken. Note to myself: Gotta watch this video when I get home from work.
