Complaining about your job is not an asshole move! Thats how we win rights and gains! Some workers have it worse than you. Some are unemployed. Some have it better than you. So organize with them and fight for the working class together.

This is exactly how I felt working at Sephora. I was so passionate and gave my all, always said yes, strived so hard... and eventually I realized they were taking advantage me. And when it got unhealthy mentally and physically and my priorities and family life began to change.... they didn't give care.

I used to watch ladylike every day for like a year and a half. but then people lost energy and I was worried then I stopped seeing the videos come out. I was worried and I kept looking for videos like this. I'm glad you guys are out of the negative space and have some more freedom lots of love

I hadn't even realised you guys left buzzfeed bc of the fact that I stopped watching buzzfeed altogether, but I'm glad you're both doing your own thing now and don't have the pressure of a contract and what not on your shoulders anymore

You said you gave all of yourself for nothing, but that isn't true. You inspired so many women, you brought light to so many days, you spoke honestly and openly and your audience fell in love with you both, for the people you are, not just the content you created. You've made your mark, and many, like myself, will continue to support you. Never think it was all for nothing.

Watching this video for the first time a few days ago I literally felt a sense of relief to know I’m not the only one 💛 I’m sorry you go through anxiety & depression & it does not feel very common bt it is. I feel myself getting anxious through the work day & will play this video & it eases some of it. just want to say thank you! It sucks going through all the emotions & struggles but i feel a little better knowing I’m not the only one & we can get through it eventually not only feeling better not only emotionally but physically as well. This video saved my sanity 💛

I stopped watching buzzfeed videos a couple years ago. How the company treats their employees subtly showed onscreen and it’s too bad that the higher ups don’t take responsibility for their piece of the puzzle.

I don't know which of you is Kitchen and which is Jorn, but to the lady on the left: I'm glad to see you have broken free. I only saw maybe 3 of your Buzzfeed videos. Your story describes corporate America perfectly. Most of my colleagues are medicated and we joke about how we’re drowning daily but should be thankful to be employed. People leave and their positions are eliminated with the work spreading among the rest of the team.
7 kun oldinWillow Song
Oof, that sounds like stress-induced agoraphobia to me.

I’m confused y’all said you were gonna explain why you left buslzzfeed but then when ur explaining you just say it was bad and stuff got worse but I don’t get what was happening that was bad?so ur Not gonna go into details? Idk is there a video out before this to tell us more about why ur suicidal and why stuff was bad? I just wanna know what was happening that was bad and worse?
8 kun oldinSnoz De
Their contracts likely had a non disclosure agreement. So, they are probably saying as much as they can: buzzfeed overworks and underpays their employees which leads to this exploitation of creator’s bodies and mental health. These are things that a lot of people experience at different jobs, but it’s not okay. Buzzfeed has an image of being fun and safe and great, and that’s not the case.
7 kun oldinFlorence Wilkinson
21:04 ‘I had to quit... to save my life.’ That his so close to home. I left school some time ago, got diagnosed with a plethora of disorders and got a shit tonne of therapy. I really wish I had seen this when it was first released as it would have served as a MASSIVE warning to me, however, I’m so glad that I found it now so I can take other lessons from it. Thank you so, so much. I genuinely feel like this video has saved me years of pain. 💕 Xx

Companies expect employee loyalty, but in no way do they maintain a sense of loyalty in making sure their employees are set up for success or their well being.

9 kun oldinDanielle Magerowski
Thank you for making this video. Thank you both so much
9 kun oldinlatinabunny2000
Its interesting to me that this is the norm for working in these industries. I worked for a sports team in the west coast and working 14 days straight 8 -10pm and making sure your still fresh is ridiculous. The only thing that saved me was my 4 year old. He said to me one day after not seeing him for 2 weeks mommy I don't care about my toys just please come home. I put in my 2weeks and left. The only thing that I tell people who think I was crazy for leaving my perfect dream job, was that I made it, I got to do it, no one will ever take that accomplishment away. And not too many people get to live their dreams but I did!
9 kun oldinEmily B
My favorite part of this video was hearing that you guys are doing better. It was so easy to see that folks at your old company were overworked and undervalued, and with how social media allows followers to “know” creators (or at least feel like they do,) it really hurts to know y’all were treated this way. Keep up the healing, it’s a LONG process. And if you feel like keeping us in the loop sometimes, feel free! But know you aren’t obligated to make content and exploit your personal lives for views anymore. Much love 💛
9 kun oldinAlicia Rene
So happy you were both able to get out of that situation, take a break, and recover (at least to some extent). I’ve been in work situations that weren’t that toxic, but I can relate to a fair bit of this. (And yes, meds are good! I’m pretty sure I would not still be here without them.) So anyway, you just gained a new follower/subscriber; keep doing what you do, and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
9 kun oldinCosmicpink
I can't wait for the Buzzfeed lawsuit
9 kun oldinJulie C
Kristin I was right there with you. I have GAD and work Exacerbated it. I could only think that I should be happy I have I job - I ended up in Psych ED and was in the partial program (in patient without actually being inpatient). Something I learned and have taken to heart is that no job is worth your physical or mental health. 💜💜
9 kun oldinMichelle Loprieno
I haven't listened to the whole video yet but thank you pointing out that we are hurting creators but not watching them. I never thought about it that way and I've been having this dilemma with other Youtube channels such as Bon Appetit. ❤️
9 kun oldinbluenekox3
Why there is no Jen side to the story :(?
9 kun oldinEmma Leonardi
Are they still allowed to use your videos, I had no idea about this until I was scrolling YouTube. I thought you guys were still with them. I feel bad for still watching them! I don’t want to support that
9 kun oldinAméthyste Molin
You rock. I'm so happy for you two
9 kun oldinKay_ Ck
Please understand that it's not ok for a company to own you, and I hate that you guys had to pour literally your whole selves into Buzz Feed and felt like there was nothing left for you. I'm so glad you guys left and are on the mend. We loved each of your personalities, and we will continue to do so no matter what you do.
9 kun oldinMario Moser
Seeing videos like this shows how broken a society is that doesn't offer people unemployment benefits and health insurance. It creates these circles of reliability on one specific employer
9 kun oldinAngela Jarman

your body gave you a first emergency breakdown warning that you're in the point that there will be a very bad thing that will happen, I experience them as well last year, that everything was going down and then my body did gave me some of the first emergency warning but ignored it due to work, but ended up damaging my mental health and my heart. which gave me already a big hint that my body wanted me to stop that abusive mentality (being workaholic and don't want to bother others of doing my job because of how i feel) , and the end is i quit and change my environment, change my career. StAY STRONG GIRLS!

This hits home. Thank you for sharing & being open. I’ve wondered what happened & the dots are connecting now. The fact of the matter is you don’t owe us anything, yet you both took the time to (again) provide for viewers/fans. I will say, L.L was my favorite & I had to actively search for it. Same goes for the suitcase show - I always had to look for it. I wonder if this was a trend & explanation as to why #s were not hitting target. Congratulations on the new endeavor! Your body remembers and it goes back to how you feel comfortable/used to. I think many people hit this wall. But it is important to listen and take care of yourself no one else will do it for us. I was hoping all of your content (what you where sharing) was because you wanted and felt comfortable with it. 10 kun oldinrobert10197
this is the best, most self-aware, humble, unassuming "why I left" video I've ever seen... among the many that are so detached from reality and expose an entitled and dramatized perspective... made usually by self-important creators who are oblivious to the scope and scale of their problems and the resulting solution of leaving. thank you for being grounded—respect

I was wondering what happened to lady like. I remember when you could see when the channel was going to be done soon because the videos started to have... less lady like energy? It felt like buzz feed forced things or something. Things felt very forced and everyone wasn't feeling it and you could just tell. I felt really bad for all of you guys.
